Learn about Platelet - Rich Plasma

What exactly is a Platelet-Rich Plasma?

Platelets are small fragments of cells in your blood that contain growth factor proteins. These growth factors are what stimulate collagen production, accelerate the healing response, and promote cell regeneration.

How is a Platelet-Rich Plasma treatment done?

We draw a small amount of your blood into a sterile tube, we then place this tube into our EmCyte PurePRP ® system to be separated. This system features a double spin technique which separates your blood into red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelet-rich plasma. The separated platelet – rich plasma is then either injected, or used in conjunction with micro-needling.

How can Platelet-Rich Plasma treatments help you?

Micro-needling with PRP:One of our most popular skin rejuvenating procedures! The combination treatment produces great results in terms of reducing the appearance of imperfections with the skin’s texture and tone. The micro-needling breaks up the fibrous tissues of the skin and the PRP promotes the growth of new, healthy tissues.

Hair Restoration: At Transformed Med Spa of Frederick, we are excited to offer Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy as a viable hair loss treatment solution. Platelets, which hold many essential growth factors, are injected into the scalp around the areas of hair loss to stimulate the hair follicle and promote growth. Collagen Enhancement: Aging can lead to areas of volume loss through the loss of facial fat and thinning of the skin. When injected into areas such as the tear-trough, cheeks, and around the mouth, PRP begins the repair process through the formation of collagen. Over time, the results become more noticeable as the contours are restored with softening of hollows and improvement of lines.

Vaginal Enhancement: Vaginal Enhancement involves the instillation of PRP into the clitoris and the vaginal wall. Growth Factors released from the activated PRP promote collagen production and blood flow inside the vagina and around the clitoris. The result is improved sensitivity, improved orgasms, increased sex drive, and lubrication.

Rejuvenation: PRP can also be used in conjunction with Fractionated Laser procedures, such as the diVa Vaginal Rejuvenation Laser and the Halo Hybrid Laser to accelerate tissue repair and enhance collagen stimulation through the activation of stem cells.
